Classical Mechanics:
Classical mechanics is based on newton's laws of motion (three laws) which includes the concept of absolute mass, absolute space & absolute time.
Absolute Mass: The absolute mass of an atom is the mass of its subatomic particles that is mass of electrons, protons & neutrons. It is the actual mass in gm.
Absolute Space: Absolute space with respect to anything always remains similar & immovable.
Absolute Time: It is the time experienced by an observer in its own frame of reference.
Inadequacies of Classical Mechanics:
The following phenomenon couldn't be explained by classical mechanics
1. Blackbody radiation
2. Photoelectric effect
3. Compton Effect
4. Hydrogen Spectrum
5. Specific heat of solids
6. Radioactivity
7. Crystal structure & crystal binding
Photon:
It is a bundle of electromagnetic energy. It is aslo referred as quantum of electromagnetic energy.
Properties:
1. Zero rest mass & travels in straight line.
2. No electric charge.
3. They carry energy & momentum which depends on frequency.
4. They can have interaction with other particles like electrons & others.
5. They travel with the speed of light.
6. The speed of photon is different in different media.
